It’s July 20th in North Texas where the local lakes are still nearly full, the temperature is 104 degrees and that can mean only one thing in Dallas Cowboys’ land: It’s time to pack up the family and head down to the 2018 Dallas Boat Expo at the Dallas Market Hall which continues today, July 20 through Sunday July 22nd. LakeHouseLifer.com is covering this week’s event starting with today’s blog. And, we will also be on site at the Expo Saturday July 21st starting at 1:00 pm Central Time to host a Facebook Live event. We’ll be speaking with show execs and getting their insights on the expo and overall state of the boating industry. Go to Facebook.com/lakehouselifer for further details. In the meantime, here’s some more background about the 2018 Dallas Boat Expo and what to look forward to!
A May 2018 report from the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association (NMMA) said total expenditures for boats, jet skis, accessories and services were at an all-time high in 2017 . Texas was recognized as the number two state in the nation for sales, behind only Florida.
The 2018 Dallas Boat Expo is presented by the United Boat Dealers of North Texas and according to the NMMA, events like the Dallas Boat Expo are one of the top sales methods used by manufacturers and dealers. Bron Beal, Executive Director of the Dallas Boat Expo, explains that “Large shows like the Dallas Boat Expo help to educate boat buyers about boating, boating accessories and safety and also often highlight future trends for the boating industry as a whole. So, to make room for next year’s models, our Dallas Boat Expo dealers will be more motivated than ever to make great deals and sell boats on the spot; right from the show room floor!”
Another interesting trend, according to a 2017 report published by the Outdoor Industry Association and the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation, shows that women are now the fastest-growing demographic in fishing. Beal added “We’ve also seen increased interest from North Central Texas women pursuing fish with line and lure for some time. There are more retailers and manufacturers developing practical lines of fishing gear specifically for women, more women fishing guides, a growing number fishing blogs penned by women, women’s fishing events and women who are making a name for themselves in pro fishing.”
The 2018 Dallas Boat Expo is recognized by the Dallas Boat Dealers Association as North Texas’ premier boating event. Expo executives expect more than 600 new boats and jet skis along with the latest in marine products and accessories on the floor. This year’s show, in particular, will give everyone a unique opportunity to shop and compare different brands and the latest models. So, the expo is great for everyone from experienced boat enthusiasts to first-time boat shoppers. Expo goers and LakeHouseLifers will see everything from runabouts and family cruisers, to fishing boats, ski boats, pontoons and sailboats. And, with more than 100 accessory vendors, you LakeHouseLifers will be able to find everything you need to experience “The Magic and Charm of The Lake“.
The Dallas Boat Expo event is designed to support the boating and marine industry in the greater North Texas area and also to educate boaters on all of the latest boating and jet ski models, accessories, safety products and techniques.
