About Classic Accessories
In the early 1980s, a retail buyer for an auto accessories chain had a simple idea, to make a better steering wheel cover. He noticed a lot of luxury cars lacking quality, leather covers, and established Classic Accessories to do something about it. In 1984, Jacob Engelstein took his leather steering wheel covers to market, having worked with his wife Barb out of their basement in Seattle’s Roosevelt neighborhood. With the help of two business partners and a few sales reps, Classic Accessories’ covers started appearing in auto parts and accessories stores across the country.
Jacob and his growing team gradually expanded their business and moved out of the basement.
